Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
